LINDA IKEJI BLOG SHUTDOWN: TWO SIDES TO A COIN.

Fresh claims and personal investigations from two notable Nigerians emerged about the Linda Ikeji-Mr AyeDee saga. Few weeks back, tech giants Google shut down Linda Ikeji's popular LIB blog. Pop ups are now all over the internet claiming this just might have been the perfect publicity stunt of 2014. Mr Charles Novia reportedly made some claims on Naij.com yesterday. Here's what he said:'The part where he(AyDee) says he will make her the richest woman in blogging or something like that is what raises the red flag. That by itself seems like the whole premise of the plan. Like 'Let's create a huge scandal which will drive the mother of all traffic to your new blog and even your old blog'. Also a report on saharareporters.com credited to Kunle Omolafe describes it as a brouhaha whose end result is instant fame locally and across the world via social media and the general web. The article also laments the manner at which it was quickly resolved. Inconclusive evidences were made mention. Without being hastily conclusive, the last probably hasn't been heared about the LIB shutdown saga. Kindly drop your comments below

Finally, a huge sigh of relief indeed for big boss and his wards. The super eagles picked up their first win in as many qualifying matches for Morroco 2015. In a very much improved performance, the super eagles ran out 3-1 winners in a fiercely contested match at the Abuja national stadium. Despite the win, the fans seemed unimpressed by the coach Stephen Okechukwu Keshi, as he was being booed and both he and the players had to quickly rush off the field. Sign of good things to come ? IDEALIZING YOUR DREAM JOB

“Oh my dream job is to be a radio presenter, it’s all about having fun and I really wish I had such job”.
The above statement is an example of comments being made by career people, job-seekers and the teeming unemployed youths visualizing or imagining a dream job or career.

With sky-high optimism, they imagine and wish for their dream job without actually digging deep and being realistic. Now let’s face it; a radio-presenter works round the clock tirelessly, even public holidays aren’t automatic off-days in other establishments. In addition, he/she has to maintain a certain standard, not letting any personal or family issue affect the job and he/she must always sound happy and focused while on-air irrespective of his/her mood, emotion, e.t.c; how more difficult could this be.

Your dream must find relevance to the need of the society and your aspiration must meet people’s need because that’s the only way you can happily express yourself with your job/career. You must move from idealism and be realistic.

Find something doing from which you derive some sort of personal and financial satisfaction to say the least, no matter how small. Unsurprisingly, not a few people who towed this path have actually had lots of gain in the long run ranging from expansion of their businesses beyond their wildest imagination to financial establishment and large rewards. Remember big things start small.

Don’t be like that lady who jut drops home and says ‘I quit my job’. If peradventure you are tired of your present job, talk to someone who really counts on you or probably your H/R manager at the office. You never can tell you might just strike a gold-coated pot of advice instead of making a hasty decision.
Most importantly, remember you either love what you do or you do what you love!

Best of luck in your career.

Who needs an optician ?

Wonders thay say shall never end. We've heared of dogs having antibiotics on their tongues curing wounds, but this is s first. A 77 year old woman from Bosnia claims to have the cure to whatever type of eye problem or defect. She claims to have been in this practice for 40 years. She claims she achieves this simply by licking her patient's eyeballs; disgusting right? Kindly drop your comment(s) below.

Alamieyeseigha allegedly found dead

First it was Toba Falode a.k.a Tyler Fray and now Oyemifa Alamieyeseigha, the son of former Bayelsa state governor Diepreye Alamieyeseigha. Reports claim his son was found dead on a certain street at Dubai, United Arab Emirates. The questions begin to arise again as to why Nigerians vying for better education abroad end up dying mysteriously. Question for the Gods perhaps. Pls drop ur comments below.

THE PURPLE HIBISCUS IN RELATION TO THE AFRICAN CHILD

Taking a peek into Purple Hibiscus by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, the winner of the commonwealth writer’s prize reminds one of the travails of the African child and the ‘hard-handedness’ of the average African parent. It entails the perfect description of improper/unhealthy family handling.

The unmistakable MR-KNOW-IT-ALL; Papa portrays himself as the perfect, spotless man; perhaps more holy than Prophet Muhammad or saintly than our very own Lord Jesus Christ. He dispatches without fail or fear, autocratic ‘discipline’ and even extends it to his lovely wife. Such actions are in sharp contradiction with marriage vow being exchanged.

This being a vivid example of what happens in the African society must be frowned at. Parents should encourage their wards to embrace morality without necessarily trampling on their children’s right to exposure, social growth, and more importantly, his/her communicative ability. Rules are okay, but they must be realistic; come on, a home isn’t some kind of militarized institution where children must comply  to some set of laid down rules neither  is it a ‘robotizing institute’ where children are made to behave/act in a particular way. This, if done has its way of tinkering a child’s mental growth/ability.

That being said, all African children deserve the right to a conducive and friendly environment/upbringing. Purple hibiscus by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie is a perfect blueprint model of how-not-to run a family and is a must read for everyone.

#Doffs hat in respect to mentor Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie.

CHRIS BROWN'S COMMENT ON EBOLA LAUGHABLE

Surprisingly or perhaps naively, American hip-hop artiste Chris Brown has declared the epidemic ravaging West Africa as some sort of population-control measure. This is surprising especially as the virus recently found ints way across the U.S border. In Chris Brown's words, 'I don't know...but i think this Ebola Epidemic is a form of population control.. s**t getting crazy though'. Perhaps, the U.S.A are embarking on this population control measure too. Lol

Whatever you do, don't be like this frog.

Put a frog in a vessel of water and start heating the water. As the temperature rises, the frog adjusts its body temperature accordingly. It keeps adjusting its temperature with the increasing water temperature. Just before the water reaches boiling point, the frog decides to jump out, but is unable to do so because it has lost all its strength in adjusting with the rising water temperature. Very soon, the frog dies. Now, the question is what killed this frog? Many will argue that its death was caused by the boiling water, but the truth is the frog's undoing was it's inability to decide when to JUMP OUT. We all need to adjust with people and situations, but we need to be sure when there is need to adjust, confront/face. If we allow people exploit us physically, emotionally, financially, they'll continue to do so. We have to decide when to jump out and make sure it is done when we still have the strength to. Stay blessed!

AFTER 9YRS T.Y BELLO SMILES WITH TWIN BOYS

Just after the release of her latest album, the eccentric musician and professional photographer has put to bed in the U.S.A. This is great news especially as this is coming after nine years of holy matrimony. Congrats to her on the birth of Christian and Christopher.

Between Mr. Jonathan Forbes, Diezani and the word 'Leadership'.

'What were you thinking Mr. Jonathan forbes' ? The above statement indeed was the reaction of a colleague on discovery that our dear minister of petroleum has been awarded the Forbes Best of Africa Award in Leadership. It is of great worry that while corruption is being celebrated here in Nigeria, the trend seems to have extended beyond that. Not few Nigerians will disagree with tha seemingly rhetorical question posed at nobody in particular as we know the petroleum sector has been fraught with irregularities. Perhaps, the word 'leadership' has been redefined.

Big boss, are you still in charge ?

Stephen Okechukwu Keshi, National team handler of the super eagles of Nigeria is reportedly on the hot seat at the moment after his team's loss to the Falcons of Jedaie. Several local columnists have lambasted him for his tactics and methods of players invitation for fixtures, notably among them is internationally recognised Solace chukwu. The darling of Nigerians is now under fire and this is a quick reminder of how success could easily turn against one. Its looking more likely that indeed, the fans have finally run out of patience and his last chance might be a wednesday turnaround.

RIOT IN KIRIKIRI PRISON

There has been a riot in Medium Security prison, Kirikiri, Lagos. The riot stated at about 2:15, with the inmates making all sorts of noise. It later escalated into a full blown riot with the prisoners throwing all sorts of missiles towards the wardens forcing them out of the main yard. As the fracas continued, the wardens fired shots from outside the prison walls, trying to oontrol the non relenting rioters. Rumor have it that trouble started when the Officer-in-charge locked up the head of the prison inmates and as protests from his colleagues didn’t yield result, hence they resorted to violence.
